About
Noel Pope, engineer.
I set AI tools up the way an engineer sets up a network: tested on real examples, documented, and with clear rules for your data. You deal with me from the first call to handover.
Background
Who you'd be working with
- Marine electro-technical officer. MCA Certificate of Competency, Electro-Technical Officer (STCW III/6). I look after IT, networks, AV, telephony and security systems on large private yachts, where things have to keep working far from help.
- Before sea. Four years in telecoms network engineering, then AV and IT installation.
- AI, every day. I use AI tools daily in my own work, including automations and search across large sets of technical manuals, and I test them before I trust them.
- Based in Edinburgh. In person across the Central Belt; online anywhere in the UK.
How I work
Tested, written down, yours
- Your own work first. Every automation is tried on real examples from your business before your staff rely on it.
- People check the output. AI drafts; your staff must check it before using or sending it. The approval step is agreed and written down in the setup.
- Clear data rules. Business plans that don't train on your data by default, the right settings, and a one-page policy your staff can follow.
- Notes you keep. Plain-English notes on how everything is set up, so you're not dependent on me.
The name
Why Carse
A carse is the flat, fertile land along a Scottish river, like the Carse of Forth: good ground where things grow.
